* Fell off national growth curve, from 95th percentile to 5th percentile.
* Spoke first word at nine months ("duck").

* Grew more and more gorgeous, looking ever more like my father.
* Slept in a crib until well over the age of 4, and kept a stiff upper lip about it.
* Improved my playground knowhow; able to use slide without assistance..

* Rode a pony for the first time. Did not fall.
* Successfully managed to climb a playground thingamajig without hurting myself..
* Lived through Euro 2000 and Germany's sorry campaign; rooted for Italy in any case.
* Caught chicken pox; exceeded normal quota of infecting other people.
